INOUE Takahiko’s “Vagabond” is a samurai manga based on the account of Musashi MIYAMOTO’s life by novelist Eiji Yoshikawa. First serialized in Weekly Morning magazine in 1998, the manga has gone on to win numerous awards such as the 2000 Media Arts Festival Grand Prize, as well as the highly-acclaimed OSAMU Tezuka Cultural Award in 2002. Critics applaud INOUE’s bold, muscular style as well his re-interpretation of the character of MIYAMOTO.

An ongoing manga by NINOMIYA Tomoko, “Nodame Cantabile” is a charming story about the relationship between two music students: a free-spirited and eccentric girl, Nodame, and Chiaki, the talented, perfectionist top student at the College Of Music. Their unlikely pairing forces each of them to face up to new challenges and grow as individuals as a result. “Nodame Cantabile” has been adapted twice for television, first as an action drama in 2006 and later as an anime series that aired in 2007.

“Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin” is a manga adaptation of the television anime series “Mobile Suit Gundam”, written and illustrated by YOSHIKAZU Yasuhiko, the original series’ character designer. Set in the midst of a war-torn earth, the story follows the crew of a ship, White Base, as they battle enemies from Zeon on their journey to bring the experimental RX-78 Gundam mobile suit back to the Federation base.
